My balcony herb garden taught me a thing about smart water tech

I rigged up a basic smart irrigation system for my balcony herbs this summer, mostly as a weekend project. Idk, maybe it's just me, but watching it delay watering after a forecasted rainstorm felt oddly satisfying. I'm now using significantly less water, and everything's still lush and green. Curious if anyone has found similar small-tech wins for sustainability around their place?
