Fair warning: My salt texture technique left permanent stains on my palette.

I tried using salt for texture in a watercolor seascape. Now my plastic palette has white marks that won't come off. Does salt react with certain palette materials?

Permanent stains from salt? No way, that's honestly shocking. I've messed with salt texture a bunch and never imagined it could eat into plastic like that. It makes me wonder if there's some weird chemical thing going on with cheaper palettes or something. You'd think watercolor supplies could handle a bit of salt, but I guess not all plastics are created equal. Now I'm paranoid about trying it on my own setup.

Check if it's actually the plastic or just residue.

Used to think plastic was bulletproof, guess it isn't.
