My grandma's 3 word theory about city noise made me rethink my whole commute

She said 'sound follows people' after I complained about the new construction near my apartment in Austin, and now I notice how every street has its own weird hum at 7am. Has anyone else had a relative drop a single weird idea that just stuck with you for weeks?
