Everyone says the old Sunrise Mall in Corpus Christi is a total bust, but I had a different experience.
I went in expecting the usual empty food court and broken fountains, but I found a whole section of the lower level where the old pet store was. The cages were still there, and someone had left these weird ceramic animal statues inside them, like a little art project. It was actually kind of cool and sad at the same time. Has anyone else found something like that, where a place everyone writes off still has a surprise?

That "quiet, forgotten spot" is the whole point, isn't it?

What kind of animals were the statues? That sounds so strange and lonely. I love finding those quiet, forgotten spots that have their own little story. It makes you wonder who put them there and why.
