Figured out I was using my flashlight all wrong after 30 years of mall crawling

I was in the old Galleria in Denton last month shining my light at everydark corner and getting terrible photos until my buddy said 'dude why are you bouncing it off the ceiling instead of diffusing it?' I guess I just thought brighter was better and never questioned my technique. Has anyone else had a basic tool epiphany way later than they should have?

The interesting part about diffusing that nobody talks about is how it changes the way people react to you when you're not even talking to them. @danielhenderson hit on something real about night game but it goes deeper than just the direct approaches. Diffusing makes your body language send a completely different signal to the whole room, not just the person you're talking to. You start feeling more relaxed and that energy spreads around you like a quiet wave. Other people pick up on it subconsciously and they start acting more comfortable around you without knowing why. It's like you're broadcasting safety without saying a word and that changes everything.
