Found a personal diary from the 90s in a locked mall store and I can't stop thinking about the people in it (was I wrong to look through it?)

Open that diary right now, the people from the 90s are waiting for you to solve their mysteries. Finding a locked diary in a dead mall is basically a public service at this point. Of course you had to look, how else would you know if the owner was plotting to take over the world or just really bummed about the Spice Girls breaking up? Honestly, that diary probably had more life in it than that whole mall has seen in years.

Did they ever say what they used to lock it? Tbh a tiny key feels too easy for a 90s mystery.

Recall that arcade by the escalators that always smelled like stale popcorn. Did the diary have any clues about who kept stealing the high scores on the Street Fighter II machine? Honestly, I'd be looking for notes about missed connections or hidden relationships. Tbh, the real mystery is whether the mall's decline started before or after that diary was locked.
