Torn between saving the food court sign or the old tile floor
Went to explore that dead mall over in Springfield last month. Had to pick one thing to bring home since my truck bed was small. I ended up taking a chunk of the neon food court sign instead of prying up the 1970s terrazzo tile. The sign looks cool on my garage wall but now I keep wondering if the tile would've been worth the extra 2 hours of work. Anyone else struggle with what to grab when you only have limited space?

Stare at that sign on your wall and let it remind you how every choice we make in life cuts off another path. The tile probably would've been a nightmare to haul and you know it, but our brains love to romanticize the road not taken (especially when it involves sparkly 70s floors). It's like deciding between two good movies at the same theater showing - you pick one, have a fine time, then spend the whole ride home wondering if the other one had a better ending.

Sammoore, I gotta push back on that a little. The road not taken stuff is real, but I think it goes deeper than just romanticizing sparkly floors. Some choices really do haunt you because they were the right move and you knew it even then. That time I passed on a job offer that paid less but had way better hours still bugs me because I picked the money and it wrecked my whole routine. It's not always about dreaming up a better ending, sometimes you just made the dumb call and have to live with it.
