Wasted $60 on a fake dead mall tour, learn from my mistake
Saw a TikTok about 'hidden dead malls' in Ohio, drove 3 hours to one near Marion. Paid $60 for a 'guided urban exploration' that turned out to be a guy with a flashlight walking us around an active dollar store strip. The mall was already demolished in 2021, photos online were from 2019. Has anyone else paid for a tour that turned out to be a bust, or should I just stick to scouting spots myself?

Man, same thing happened to me in Indiana. Paid $50 for a "vintage mall" walk and it was just a guy showing us a Spirit Halloween and a shuttered Sears with no roof.

Paid $60 for a guy with a flashlight to show me an active Dollar General. That's not urban exploration, that's just Tuesday at the strip mall. Honestly, the best part was when he tried to charge extra for the loading dock tour. Next time, save the cash and just Google Maps the place from your couch. Same vibes, costs zero dollars, and you can skip the part where the security guard asks what you're doing.
