Dropped $120 on an AI lead gen bot, got 3 junk emails in return

I set up this AI tool to scrape local business leads for my landscaping company in Spokane. It promised 500 quality contacts a month, but after 4 weeks all I got were 3 spammy emails and a bunch of dead phone numbers. I even followed their setup videos twice and paid extra for the 'premium data pack'. Now I'm wondering if the whole thing was just a way to sell subscriptions to people like me. Has anyone else tried these AI lead tools and actually seen real customers from them, or is it all hype?

Man, that's a classic case of the shiny tool promise. The thing is, those AI bots are only as good as the data they pull, and most of the time that data is just scraped from public directories that are already stale by the time you see them. You're better off spending that $120 on a decent list from a local chamber or just walking around and grabbing photos of yard signs. It's slower, but at least you know the people actually exist and might answer their phones.
