Dropped $150 on an AI writing assistant that still can't copy edit worth a damn
It generated 2,000 words in 30 seconds but missed every single comma splice and passive voice problem I asked it to fix, so has anyone else found a decent AI tool that actually proofreads instead of just vomiting text?

Tried Hemingway Editor after getting sick of the same thing. It highlights passive voice and tricky sentences in real time, way more helpful than those fancy AI tools. Paired it with a basic grammar checker like ProWritingAid for the comma stuff and it actually catches the dumb mistakes I miss. Still have to do the final pass myself but it cuts the time in half.

Half the time I read my first draft and think "this is fine" and then I look closer and it's a disaster. Not sure I care enough to run everything through extra programs though.
