Hot take: AI art generators are getting too good at copying specific artists without consent
I saw this happen last week with a friend who does digital paintings on Patreon. Someone fed her whole portfolio into one of those image AIs and started selling prints that looked almost identical to her style. She had no way to prove it was her work being ripped off since the AI made "new" pieces. On the other hand, some artists say these tools just learn like humans do, studying styles and building on them. So where do we draw the line between inspiration and theft? Has anyone else dealt with their original work getting fed into an AI without permission?

@the_patricia I mean, people blow stuff out of proportion all the time online. What exactly did this friend claim happened? Half the stories on this site are exaggerated for sympathy or attention. Unless there's video proof or police reports, I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
