Spent $50 on an AI resume writer and got zero callbacks

I was tired of sending out resumes and hearing nothing back, so I dropped $50 on this AI tool that promised to tailor my resume for each job. It scanned job descriptions and rewrote my experience to match keywords, which sounded great on paper. But after two weeks and about 15 applications, I didn't get a single interview. I went back and looked at what it spit out, and some of the sentences were just weird or flat out wrong about my job history. Like it said I managed a team of 10 in my warehouse job, but I only have 3 guys under me. It felt like it was optimized for bots instead of human hiring managers. Has anyone else had better luck with a different AI tool for this, or is it just a waste of money?

Yeah but did you actually read through every single resume before sending it out? That part about the 10 people vs 3 guys is exactly why you can't just trust the AI blindly. Because if you caught that warehouse thing you probably would have caught other weird stuff too.

Back in the day I helped a buddy sort through applications for a landscaping gig and we used one of those early resume scanners. It flagged this one guy as a perfect match because he used the word "leadership" like 15 times. Turns out his last job was managing a conveyer belt at a chicken plant. The machine didn't catch that he had zero experience with plants or soil or anything green. We would have hired him based on the computer's say so if we hadn't skimmed the actual work history ourselves. That little check saved us a whole season of headaches. Technology is great but it misses the obvious stuff a human catches in two minutes.
