Spent 6 months training an AI chatbot wrong because of one checkbox mistake
I was building a customer service bot for my buddy's HVAC company in Dallas and kept wondering why it told people their AC was fine when it was clearly broken. Turns out I had the sentiment filter flipped to 'positive only' the whole time lol. The tip-off was when a customer sent a screenshot of the bot saying 'Great news, your refrigerant leak is actually a feature!' Has anyone else had a dumb settings error that wasted weeks of work?

Customer probably didn't find that refrigerant leak feature too funny.

Hold up, Im gonna play devils advocate here and say maybe the bot was right. If your customers are the type to laugh off a refrigerant leak as a feature, maybe thats the kind of positivity your buddy's HVAC company needs. @jake_owens probably thinks the feature isnt funny but maybe the bot was just ahead of its time, like that time I trained a food bot to call everything delicious even if it was burnt. The real error is assuming all feedback needs to be negative when customers might vibe with a little chaos in their AC diagnosis.
