Why does nobody talk about how AI image tools handle hands differently?

I've been playing with Midjourney and DALL-E side by side for about two months now, and I noticed something weird. Midjourney keeps adding an extra finger or twisting thumbs into weird shapes, while DALL-E usually gets them right but makes the skin look waxy. My buddy Ryan who does digital art said it's because the training data for hands is way more complex than faces or objects. It matters because if you are trying to make realistic product shots or character art, those hand details stand out like a sore thumb. Has anyone else tested this and found one tool better than the other for specific body parts?

Honestly, my cousin tried making hands for her comic once and ended up with a six-fingered wizard that looked like a mutant.
