Am I the only one annoyed when people call every CGI anime '3D'?

I mean I keep seeing folks on here saying shows like Land of the Lustrous are '3D anime' but that's not really accurate. It's cel-shaded CGI with hand-painted backgrounds, not the same as something like Berserk 2016. Idk, does anyone else get bothered by how loose people are with these terms?

From someone who accidentally called Kingdom Hearts 3 "3D" in a group chat and got roasted for it, just learn the difference and move on. Save your energy for bigger arguments.

Man I gotta side with @olivia_bailey on this one. People mix up terms all the time but it's not like the show's any worse just cause someone called it 3D instead of cel-shaded CGI. Seems like a tiny thing to get hung up on when there's way bigger stuff to argue about.

Yeah totally agree with the "save your energy" part but honestly it gets under my skin too. I once called something "claymation" in a group chat full of stop motion nerds and you'd think I insulted their mothers the way they came after me. But like, if someone says Land of the Lustrous is just "3D" they're missing the whole point of how much work went into making it look like that, you know? It's not about being a snob it's about giving credit where it's due.
