I mean, it's just a comment section on a streaming site, not a college paper. Maybe we all just got tired of typing so much. Posting a meme gets the same feeling across way faster, idk.

Not a college paper" is putting it lightly. I saw a three paragraph breakdown of a character's shoelace color symbolism last week. At that point, just paste a link to your blog. A meme is a public service.
