Blew $60 on a Crunchyroll subscription I barely used for 4 months
I finally cancelled my Crunchyroll subscription today after realizing I'd paid for 4 months straight without watching a single episode. That's $60 down the drain just because I thought I'd finally get into Attack on Titan but never made it past episode 2. Anyone else keep subscriptions running out of pure optimism instead of actually using them?

Real quick though, $60 for 4 months is $15 a month, right? That's the standard Crunchyroll price, so you didn't overpay or anything. A lot of people do that thing where they think a subscription will magically make them want to watch stuff, then they just sit there with it for months. It's basically the gym membership of streaming services. You pay for the idea of watching anime, not the actual watching part.

Is it weird that I actually feel relieved when I finally cancel something like that... I did the same thing with a magazine subscription last year, paid for 12 months and read maybe two issues. Big @victorb74 is right about it being like a gym membership, you're paying for the hope of using it more than the actual use. I've got a stack of unread manga on my shelf that I tell myself I'll get to someday too, it's just that cycle of optimism and guilt.
