Debate: Should anime dubs prioritize accuracy or flow?

I watched the new Frieren dub and they changed a line about magic theory to sound more natural in English. Some people say it loses the original meaning, others say it's better for casual viewers. Which side makes more sense to you?

Prioritizing accuracy over flow only works if viewers are fluent in Japanese.

Thing is, this whole accuracy vs flow thing shows up everywhere, not just in translations. It's like when someone gives you super precise driving directions but they're so detailed you get lost anyway because you missed the third left after the second light. Or when someone explains a recipe with exact measurements but skips the part about how the dough should actually feel when you knead it. The real world works on feeling and context way more than we give it credit for. Getting the big picture right first then filling in the details feels more natural for most people.
