Had to choose between 3 episodes of One Piece filler or a 45-minute recap movie last night
Picked the filler arc because at least it had new animation. Wasted 2 hours before I realized the recap movie would've been funnier since it skipped the whole Davy Back Fight nonsense. Anyone else ever regret your watching choice mid-episode?

New animation is new animation, I get that call. But you REALLY messed up skipping the recap. Recaps are GOLD for skipping the boring parts, that's their whole job. The Davy Back Fight filler just stretches out the pain with extra nonsense nobody asked for. Probably could have watched that recap in 20 minutes with fast forward and saved yourself a full hour of your life. Sometimes the "boring option" is actually the smart play.

Is it really that serious though? I mean you're talking about a 45 minute difference in a show where you've probably already sunk like 200 hours into. The Davy Back Fight is bad either way, filler or recap, so maybe just accept the loss and move on. I get regretting the choice mid-episode but at the end of the day it's two hours of a cartoon. You could have just turned it off and watched something else if it was that painful. idk, feels like we overthink these little decisions way too much sometimes.

Tbh I read something about how the filler arcs actually have better pacing than some of the canon stuff sometimes. Ngl the Davy Back Fight is rough in any form though. You probably made the right call on new animation at least.
