Overheard two guys in a coffee shop arguing about whether Attack on Titan season 2 pacing was actually the problem or if people just wanted nonstop action
Was grabbing a latte last Wednesday and these two were going back and forth for like 15 minutes. One said the whole season was filler and the other said it was building world lore. Made me think about how I used to hate slow episodes until I rewatched some shows and realized I missed half the details the first time. Has anyone else flipped on a season they initially trashed after giving it another shot?

Bet that pacing let the soundtrack actually breathe instead of drowning everything out.

Yeah exactly, that's what I was thinking too. When a movie lets the music breathe like that, it makes the quiet moments hit so much harder because you actually hear what's going on. Too many films feel the need to have the score beating you over the head every single scene, like they're scared the audience might get bored for five seconds. Good pacing gives the composer room to do something subtle or build up slowly instead of just throwing loud noises at you constantly. That restraint is honestly what separates a decent soundtrack from a great one in my book.
