That 3 hour debate about sub vs dub changed my whole view on anime
I used to be super against watching dubbed anime. No idea why, I guess I just bought into the hype early on. Then last month I got stuck watching a shonen series called 'Mob Psycho 100' with a friend who only does dubs. Halfway through episode two I realized I wasn't reading subtitles and was just enjoying the fight scenes way more. It took me about 6 months to actually give it a real shot and admit I was wrong. Has anyone else had a similar flip on something they were stubborn about?

Are we really acting like which language you hear in a cartoon is a life changing decision? It's just a show, pick the one that doesn't annoy you and move on.

Dubs take all the soul out of the performances plain and simple. The original voice actors actually match the mouth movements and the emotional beats were crafted by the creators for those specific actors. Every time I try a dub I hear the same five voice actors doing the same voices for different characters and it completely takes me out of the show. Subbed is the way the director intended it to be watched and you're missing half the artistic intent by switching over. Not saying people can't enjoy dubs but calling them equal is just wrong.
