A customer in Phoenix told me to always check the door switch first on a no-start dryer, even if the light is on.
I was sure the thermal fuse was blown on a Whirlpool model, but they mentioned their last tech found a bent actuator arm that passed the continuity test but still failed under load. I spent an extra 20 minutes checking and sure enough, that was it. How many other 'obvious' fixes do we sometimes skip past?

That's a solid tip right there. I've been burned by a bad door switch on a GE dryer that passed the meter test too. Makes you slow down and actually check the simple stuff first.

That "passed the meter test" part gets me. How does a switch fail but still show continuity? I've seen them work cold but fail when they heat up. Makes testing under real conditions so important.
