A lesson from the coast on keeping fridges safe from salt air
I was on a trip to the coast last year and saw many fridges breaking down quickly. The salt air was ruining the metal and seals. Now, I tell people near the beach to put a special spray on their fridge outside. It helps them avoid big repair bills. This small tip has made my job easier too.

Checking the door seals every few months helps too, since salt makes rubber crack fast. A little maintenance beats replacing the whole unit.

Exactly! My old fridge in Florida had the same problem until I got serious about wiping down the seals. It's wild how fast that sticky salt film builds up and just eats through the rubber. I even kept a little spray bottle of vinegar water under the sink just for that job. You in a coastal area too?

Newer fridge models in Daytona Beach have stainless steel that handles salt air fine. Extra sprays seem like a solution for a problem that's not as common as people think.
