A trick for those stubborn Maytag Neptune washer door locks
Had one in a basement apartment in Cincinnati that would fail the diagnostic test every time, even after a new lock assembly. On a hunch, I bypassed the main control board's lock signal with a direct 12v feed from a spare power supply for about 30 seconds, then reconnected everything. It reset the board's internal error flag and the lock has worked fine for 6 months now. Anyone else found a reliable reset method for these that doesn't involve a full board replacement?

Your trick might work by clearing a voltage fault in the board's memory. I've seen similar resets work on old dryer control panels after a power surge. It's a clever way to trick the board into a fresh start.

Yeah, that "clearing a voltage fault" thing is exactly how it works, just a forced reboot.

Used to think you were wrong, but you changed my mind.
