Can we talk about using a speed square for dishwasher leveling?
I fought with a level and shims for 45 minutes on a tricky install in Denver last Tuesday before an old timer showed me you can clamp a speed square right to the front frame and use it as a straight edge to eyeball the tilt. Has anyone else found a janky tool hack that just works better than the proper stuff?

Started helping a buddy swap his water heater in Phoenix last year and realized halfway through we left the drain pan behind at the shop. Ended up using a tarp and bungee cords to catch any drips while we ran back, @grace_knight70, and honestly it worked better than the proper pan because we could see every leak instantly. Sometimes the janky fix just makes more sense than the textbook way.

Three bungee cords and a tarp saved you a 45 minute trip back, that's efficiency right there. $40 says that tarp setup caught more drips than the official pan ever would have. Next thing you know Lowe's will be selling "Tarp+Bungee Leak Detection Systems" for $89.99.
