Finally got the hang of diagnosing washing machine bearings by ear.

Do you use this trick or something else?

Wow, I used to always grab my stethoscope tool first for bearing noise. After watching a few repair videos, I realized listening closely for that metallic grinding during the spin cycle is way faster. @wyatt_brown78 my machine sounded more like a dying lawnmower than a concert, but the ear trick really works.

My Maytag's bearing noise was loud for ages but never caused a breakdown.

Guess I've been doing it wrong, I thought my washing machine was just really into heavy metal. Might need to get my ears checked.
