Hit 1,000 compressor replacements last week and it finally clicked

I kept track in a notebook since 2018 and crossed 1,000 sealed system repairs last Tuesday. That number made me realize how many times I've seen the same failure modes over and over, especially on LG linear compressors from 2015-2017 models. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone that changed how you diagnose things?

Wow, you kept a physical notebook for that long? That's wild, I lose track of my receipts after a month. I guess seeing the same failures over and over really hammers home what's actually junk versus just bad luck. A thousand repairs is a lot of refrigerant in your lungs though, be careful with that stuff.

Is it really that serious though or are you just looking for patterns in random noise? I've done maybe half that many and I still see the same old crap failing on every brand from 2012 to 2018, not just LG. Samsung's sealed systems from that era are just as bad, and don't get me started on those cheap GE units that leak from the evaporator every time. Notebooks are fine but I just use a mental tally at this point. Ten years from now you'll probably still be seeing the same problems on newer models.
