Pro tip: those cheap refrigerator start relays fail way more than you'd think
I was working on a Whirlpool fridge last month that kept cycling on and off. Customer was about to buy a whole new unit until I swapped out the start relay for like $12. Turns out these things fail like 3x more often than the compressor itself, I read that stat in a repair manual from 2022. Had no idea they were such a weak point, especially on models made after 2018. Anyone else see more of these popping up lately?

@james_kim knows the pain. Made that mistake myself once. Felt like a real dummy.

Swapping a whole compressor for a bad $12 relay is like using a sledgehammer on a thumbtack.
