TIL that replacing a dryer belt and replacing a dryer drum roller are totally different levels of pain
Had a customer's Whirlpool that was thumping like crazy last week. I figured it was just the belt since it was old and loose. Nope. Took me 20 minutes to get the belt on but the drum roller was seized. Had to take the whole front off and use a socket extension at a weird angle. The belt swap took me maybe 10 minutes total. That roller took over an hour. Has anyone else found that certain parts on these machines are way more trouble than they look?

Yeah “totally different levels of pain” is spot on. My buddy stripped a screw on one and ragequit for three days.

The "ragequit for three days" part hit close to home because I've been there with stripped hardware. What finally worked for me was switching to a GOOD quality hex key set with a ball end, it lets you get at those awkward rollers at an angle without stripping. Also, I started taking pictures with my phone before disassembly so I could see exactly where everything went when my patience ran out.
