Vent: watched a guy in Tucson fix a dryer with a $2 part after the homeowner got quoted $340
Two weeks ago a lady in Tucson called me out because another shop said her dryer needed a whole new motor and quoted her $340. I pulled the back panel, saw the belt was fine but the idler pulley was seized, swapped in a $2 pulley from my van and it spun like new in 20 minutes. How do you all handle it when a customer tells you another tech already gave them a price like that, do you show them the old part or just keep quiet and bill it?
