Can we talk about how I swore off reman alternators for 8 years and just put one in a 2011 CR-V last Wednesday
The original Denso in my wife's CR-V died at 187k miles, I grabbed a $118 reman from the parts store in Boise because the OEM was backordered 3 weeks, and after watching it hold a steady 14.4 volts through a full load test I'm starting to think my old rule from the dealer days was mostly about the cheap rebuilds we saw in the 90s, so has anyone else had a reman actually last past 60k or did I just get lucky?
Ha, same here man! I ran a reman in my old Tacoma for like 90k before I sold it and it was still going strong. The 90s rebuilds really did scare a whole generation of us off, but the newer ones seem to hold up way better.
