Found a trick for diagnosing bad injectors without a scope
On a 6.0 Powerstroke last week I cracked the fuel line at each injector one by one and listened for the idle to drop, and it caught a dead cylinder number 7 that the customer had been chasing for months, has anyone else used the old school method over spending big money on tools?

Question how bad of a miss are we talking to even hear it.

@norag66, it really depends on the engine and the ear. In my experience, a miss that's barely audible to one person can be pretty obvious to someone else, kind of like how some people can't hear a bad belt squeal until it's screaming. But your mileage may vary, a tiny vacuum leak can make a noise that sounds like a miss even when the engine is running fine enough to pass a quick test.
