I finally watched a master tech diagnose a no-start in 10 minutes flat
Last Tuesday I was at a shop in Mesa watching a guy with 30 years on me chase down a no-start on a 2011 Silverado. He skipped the scan tool and went straight to the ground strap on the block, and sure enough it was green and crusty under the bolt head. He said he sees it every summer out here when the heat cooks the connections, and he keeps a spare strap in his box just for it. I had been pulling my hair out on a similar truck for a week testing everything else first. How do you guys decide when to trust the scan tool versus just going by feel?
