I quit using a creeper to slide under dashes, a $12 foam kneeling pad changed my whole setup
For about 8 years I did every under-dash job on my back on a creeper, and I was always fighting the wheels catching on floor mats and air hoses. Last month I was doing a blend door actuator on a 2013 F-150 in my shop in Boise and my back was screaming, so I grabbed the foam kneeling pad I use for oil changes and just laid it on the floorboard. Turns out it puts me at a better angle for reaching up behind the dash and I can slide out way faster when I need a different socket. I have done 6 dash jobs since then and my lower back is not wrecked the next morning. Anyone else ditch the creeper for interior work or am I late to this?
