Old kitchen drawer now holds my socket set
I had an old kitchen drawer from a remodel. I cleaned it up and added some dividers. Now all my sockets are sorted by size. It saves me a lot of time when I'm under a car. You could try this with any spare drawer you have.

That just sounds like a clunky mess waiting to spill everywhere lol. A proper toolbox tray is way more secure for moving stuff around.

My uncle did something like that in his garage but with an old silverware tray. He dumped all his loose drill bits into the little sections for knives and spoons. Ended up labeling each row with a paint marker right on the metal. Crazy how the best organizers are just old things you already have kicking around. Made finding the right bit so much faster.

Honestly that's such a smart move with the silverware tray. Did basically the same thing in my shop with an old pegboard organizer meant for screws. Took all my random router bits and chucked them in the little plastic bins, then wrote the sizes on with a sharpie. Works way better than the fancy case they came in.
