Spotted a hack at the Ford dealer in Phoenix last week

I was waiting for parts at the Ford dealership shop and noticed a tech using a heat gun on a stuck caliper bracket bolt for like 2 minutes before even touching a wrench. Tried it myself on a rusty F-150 yesterday and it came loose way easier than beating on it with a hammer anyone else do this on salt belt trucks?

Heat gun beats a torch every time, less chance of melting your boots off.

Wait, have you actually used both on a frozen bootlace or just on regular laces, @olivia_bailey? I tried a heat gun once and it took forever to get the ice out, plus it kept blowing hot air everywhere and I burned my fingers. A torch gives you way more control if you just keep it moving, I've never melted a boot with it. Torch also works faster on thick ice where you gotta break through hard stuff, heat gun just sorta sits there and blows.
