That 'quick' brake job on a 2014 F-150 that turned into a 6 hour spiral because of one seized caliper bracket bolt
I spent over three hours just fighting that one bolt with heat and a breaker bar before I finally gave in and cut it out with a grinder, has anyone else run into a rusted bolt that made you question your whole career choice?

Did you really spend 6 hours on one brake job though? Feels like you might've just needed a bigger breaker bar and some patience.

I hit the SAME wall my first time doing brakes. Ended up buying a cheap harbor freight torque wrench and a 3 foot breaker bar, made ALL the difference. Honestly, half my time was wrestling with the old rusty bolts. Once I soaked them in PB Blaster overnight and used the long bar, it was like 45 minutes tops. Sometimes you just need the right tool and a little prep BEFORE you start cranking.

Hitting that same wall is brutal. I remember sitting on the garage floor staring at a rusted-on rotor for like an hour, just completely stuck. PB Blaster is a lifesaver, I swear by the stuff now. Agreed that half the battle is just getting the old parts off without stripping anything. Once you've done it a few times you learn the prep work is the real job.
