TIL brake fluid eats through powder coat way faster than I thought
Had a caliper leak on a customer's F-150 last Tuesday, dripped down onto the lower control arm. I figured it would clean up but nope, that powder coat was bubbling within like 20 minutes of exposure. Never really dealt with a slow leak sitting on a coated part before, usually they get caught sooner. Now I'm looking at a full arm replacement on a 2019 truck with 60k miles. Anyone else had brake fluid wreck coated suspension parts this quick, or did I just get unlucky with the coating quality?
