Shoutout to the old me who carried a 60-pound pack up the Pacific Crest Trail
Honestly, I used to think you needed a giant hiking backpack with a frame and everything for a 5-day trip. I packed a tent, stove, extra clothes, and like 10 pounds of snacks. Last year on the Appalachian Trail, I switched to a frameless 35-liter pack and cut my base weight to 12 pounds. Total game changer, my back doesn't ache after 10 miles now. Anyone else make the switch to ultralight gear and feel like a new person?
