Just crunched the numbers on my PCT resupply strategy and I'm honestly mad at myself

I spent 4 hours last night comparing calorie per dollar for every town stop from Kennedy Meadows to Ashland. Turns out I wasted about $120 on overpriced gas station snacks when I could have just mailed myself boxes from Ridgecrest. Has anyone else found that the 'buy as you go' method secretly costs way more than you think?

Ridgecrest to Ashland isn't really Kennedy Meadows, though.

Does it really matter that much what people call the stretch between here and there? Seems like splitting hairs over trail names when everyone's just trying to get through the desert.
