My GPS unit died 6 miles into the Ozark Trail last weekend
I was following the Ozark Trail near the Current River and the screen just flickered out, so I had to backtrack with a paper map my buddy had, but it took us 3 extra hours and we nearly missed the last shuttle, has anyone else switched back to carrying paper maps as a backup?

The real lesson is always keep a paper map, those batteries die at the worst time.
