My tent pole snapped on the third night of the John Muir Trail last August. Had to MacGyver it with duct tape and a stick. What's your worst gear failure story?

Ugh, that's rough. I had a sleeping pad valve totally blow out once. Wrapped the whole thing in a trash bag and used my pack straps to keep it tight. Slept like that for two nights.
