Showerthought: is auto-clicking your mouse to look busy a genius move or a path to getting caught?
Two weeks ago my boss started tracking mouse movement in our remote software, so I dug around and found a free tool that nudges my cursor every 45 seconds while I go do laundry or make lunch. Side A says this is harmless survival, since I still finish all my tickets by Thursday and nobody has complained about my output in 8 months. Side B says it is a trap, because IT can see the constant perfectly spaced movement and a guy in our Austin office got flagged for the same thing in March. I have run it for 9 workdays now and my status stays green the whole time, but I keep waiting for a message from my manager asking why my cursor visits the exact same spot at the exact same gap all day. So where do you land, smart lazy move or ticking clock, and has anyone here actually gotten caught using one of these?
