Update: my badge stopped working at 6am Monday and I just went home

Got to the office at 6:05 Monday, swiped my badge, and it flashed red three times. Tried again. Nothing. Security guy said my access got pulled Friday afternoon by mistake. Nobody told me. Instead of calling my manager at 6 in the morning, I drove to the diner on 5th, got a $9 breakfast, and watched a full hour of morning news. Clocked in at 8:15 like it was a normal day. Manager never asked where I was. Now I leave my badge in the car overnight just in case it happens again. Does anyone else have a backup plan for when the building locks them out?
