Why does nobody talk about the Rocky Horror remake from 2016?

I chose to sit through the TV remake instead of rewatching the original for the third time that week. The new cast tried hard, but the whole thing felt too clean and bright. What won me over was Laverne Cox as Frank, she brought a raw energy that the old film only hints at in spots. I still prefer the original, but I think that remake gets judged way too harshly. Has anyone else found a remake they ended up defending against friends?

Rant: my cousin called Howard the Duck a masterpiece and now I can't sleep

He said the practical effects beat half the Marvel movies we saw last year, and honestly I rewatched it Friday and the duck puppet acting weirdly has more charm than three Chrises stacked up. Has anyone else had a family member throw out a defense so wild it made you like a movie you used to hate?

Why does everyone forget the fun parts of Battlefield Earth?

Everyone rips on that movie, and I get why the accents are silly and the plot is all over the place. But I saw it at the dollar theater in 2001 and it was such a wild ride, the mining stuff actually felt tense to me. The book by L. Ron Hubbard is dense and slow for the first 200 pages, but the movie just jumps into the action and that energy is fun. My buddy says the movie ruins the story's logic, but I think the dumb spectacle is the whole point. Anyone else actually enjoy a famous flop because they saw it before they read the source material? What's the movie that everyone hates but you will defend to the end?

Can we talk about Hudson Hawk and why it's actually fun

Everyone I know trashes this movie, but I watched it again last week and had a blast. The heist scenes synced to music are dumb in the best way, and Bruce Willis is clearly having fun with the tone. My buddy in Chicago called it unwatchable, but I think critics just missed the joke. Has anyone else enjoyed a so-called bomb that everyone else swears is terrible?

Catwoman (2004) is a mess, but honestly I watch it every spring

Tbh the CGI is terrible and the plot makes zero sense, but I put it on after a rough Tuesday shift at the diner. The basketball scene at 32 minutes in always makes me laugh because it's so over the top. My roommate walked in during the dance club part and asked if I was okay, but I told her it's my comfort trash. Does anyone else have a movie they defend purely for the vibe, not the quality?

Shoutout to the movie theater in Tulsa that screens 'The Room' monthly
