Appreciation post: I used to think 'The Room' was just a joke, but now it's my go-to comfort movie
For years, I'd only seen the memes and heard people laugh at it. Then, about six months ago, my friend in Denver made me watch the whole thing. At first, I was just cringing at the weird dialogue and the plastic spoons. But something shifted halfway through. The sheer commitment to being so bizarre, like the random football tossing scenes, started to feel weirdly genuine. Now, when I've had a tough week, I put it on. It's impossible to be stressed when you're watching a movie where a character says 'Oh, hi Mark' for no clear reason. It's like a warm, confusing blanket. Has anyone else found a movie everyone mocks that just makes you weirdly happy?

That plastic spoon thing gets me every time. It's like the whole movie is built on these weird inside jokes that nobody was in on. The comfort comes from how seriously it takes itself while being completely ridiculous. There's no irony, just a guy trying to make a drama and accidentally creating the best comedy ever. It's pure in a way most movies can't even try to be.

Remember my buddy who cried at the spoon scene?
