I dropped $15 on a used copy of 'The Love Guru' and it was worth every penny

I found this movie at a garage sale for 15 bucks and bought it as a joke for movie night with my buddies. We watched it and honestly it cracked me up way more than I expected, Mike Myers being over the top just works for me. Anyone else find a universally hated movie that actually made you laugh?

Read the reviews for that flick are brutal but I kinda wanna give it a shot now.

Yeah I saw those reviews too @wyatt52, they're pretty rough. But I read somewhere that the director had to cut like 40 minutes out for the theatrical release so maybe that explains the choppy pacing people keep complaining about. The cinematography apparently got some praise in the early festival screenings before the studio recut it. Might be worth a watch if you go in not expecting much, sometimes those "failed" movies have some interesting stuff buried in them.

Honestly, is there anything more relatable than a director having to chop 40 minutes out of their movie? I feel like that's just my life every time I try to tell a story at a party and realize nobody cares about the part where I bought the wrong brand of crackers. But yeah, I've seen a few of those festival reviews that mention some cool shots, so maybe the movie is like a weird thrift store painting - ugly up close but kinda interesting from a distance. Tbh, I might stream it next time I'm in the mood for something that makes me feel better about my own choices.
