I looked up the budget for 'Battlefield Earth' and the numbers shocked me

Everyone calls it the worst movie ever, but I found out it only cost 44 million dollars to make. I saw this on a box office site last night. For a sci-fi movie with that many sets and effects in 2000, that's actually pretty low. It explains why some of the effects look cheap, but it also means they tried to do a lot with a little. Has anyone else found a fact about a hated movie that made you see it differently?

Tried to do a lot with a little" is basically the story of my life, but with less Travolta in dreads.
