My brother walked out of 'The Room' after 20 minutes and I think he missed the point

It's like that with a lot of things now... people expect instant payoff and miss the slow build. My neighbor quit his guitar lessons after a month because he couldn't play a song yet. The good stuff usually comes from sticking with the awkward phase.

Remember my friend who insisted we watch that movie all the way through. He kept saying the awkward parts were the whole point! Honestly, I almost left too, but sticking it out became its own weird kind of fun. The second half is where you really bond with everyone else still in the theater, all sharing those painful looks. It's less about the plot and more about the shared experience of getting through it.

My buddy dragged me to a three hour art film last year. We started making up terrible subtitles for the silent scenes and cracked up the whole row.
