My buddy in Tulsa told me my bad movie picks were too obvious and now I have a whole new way of doing it
I used to just grab whatever was on the shelf at the Family Video on 11th, stuff like Troll 2 or The Room, and call it a night. Then my buddy Marcus came over for movie night at my apartment in Tulsa and said, "These are too famous to be bad, they're just famous bad movies." That hit me hard because he was right, I was picking stuff everyone already knew about. So now I dig for stuff like "Leprechaun 4: In Space" or "Santa With Muscles" instead, and honestly the room has way more fun now. Does anyone else have a rule for how obscure a bad movie has to be before it counts?
Same thing happens with music, once a band gets labeled a "one hit wonder" everyone knows the joke already. The real fun is finding the stuff nobody's even heard of yet, like a random CD in a dollar bin that turns out to be a total mess.
